National Landscape Architecture Month

As some of you may know, April is National Landscape Architecture Month. When you are out and about this month, look at your surroundings. Notice the parks, gardens, residential developments and so forth. How did they come to take shape? And how will these places transform in the future? That’s and easy answer – by careful planning, designing, land use management and applying sustainable design practices. This is the true job of Landscape architects. Landscape architecture is the unique meeting of environment and art. It is a profession that combines both creativity and science.

During National Landscape Architecture Month, members of the ASLA become more visible within various communities around the country in order to educate students and the public on the profession. “Designing Our Future: Sustainable Landscapes,” is a special ASLA interactive resource that present animations and fact sheets that illustrate what landscape architect do and how their work benefits all.
